At St Luke’s Lunch, we work alongside families to find practical, local solutions to the challenges they’re facing. We connect people with helpful services, support them in navigating complex systems, and encourage parents to take the lead in shaping projects that meet real needs in their community.

Everything we do is rooted in trust, lived experience and local knowledge — helping families not just get by, but truly thrive.

  • Family Food Shop – Our Family Food Shop provides a free fortnightly food shop for low-income families living in Barton Hill. Run by parents, it is designed as an empowering alternative to traditional food banks. We prioritise choice, dignity, and cultural relevance, ensuring families can access food in a way that feels respectful and supportive.
  • Shop Extra – Shop Extra is our household essentials shop, offering a wide range of hygiene and cleaning products. It’s a stigma-free space where families can access what they need affordably, with the freedom to choose items that suit their households.
  • Mum’s Family Café – Every Tuesday 10am-12pm
It is a welcoming, mum-led space that brings together mothers and female carers from diverse backgrounds. It’s a place to build friendships, share experiences, and feel supported. Through crafts, skill-sharing, food, and group walks, we create opportunities for connection, mutual learning, and community.
  • After School Family Café – Every Wednesday 3:15pm-4:15pm
A warm and friendly space for families to gather after school. We offer free snacks alongside fun activities like crafts and Lego, creating a relaxed environment where children and parents can spend time together and connect with others.
  • Family Community Work – Beyond our organised activities, we work closely with families to understand their needs. We offer guidance and signposting to relevant services and support parents to lead new projects that respond to real community needs.
